Blaupunkt “pimps” it across Asia-Pacific with MTV Asia

Blaupunkt is the exclusive presenter of MTV's hit show "Pimp My Ride" 15,000 Blaupunkt commercials will reach 150 million households in 11 countriesIt's time to "pimp" things up at MTV.

And car multimedia brand Blaupunkt will be part of the action. For the first time, Blaupunkt will be exclusively presenting three new shows of Pimp My Ride International, Pimp My Ride US and Pimp My Ride UK, a move which sees Blaupunkt continuing the highly successful story from Blaupunkt Europe's MTV campaign last year into the Asia-Pacific region.The close partnership between Blaupunkt and MTV Networks Asia will enable the company to specifically target 18 to 34-year-olds who love cars and music. As the sponsor of the Pimp My Ride shows, Blaupunkt presents these new products and other Car Multimedia equipment in these shows. "With our involvement in the reality-tuning-show, we want to specifically target young adults who have high affinity for cars and multimedia and who place a great deal of importance on an outstanding in-vehicle sound experience. That's why music is the ideal channel for us to appeal to the young sound generation," commented Clemens K. Blaupunkt will be supplying state-of-the-art car radios, navigation systems and high-performance sound components. Two new faces have signed up to present the ultimate car makeover show as Latino rapper sensation Fat Joe and hip hop maestro Lil Jon traverse Europe, turning tin car motors into gleaming street machines.The TV trailer for the new series airs as from April 18, and the show itself launches from April 25 (the premiere dates for the show are staggered throughout April/May). "Pimp My Ride International" will be made available to 12 regions via MTV Asia's extensive network including Australia, China, Indonesia, India, Korea, Malaysia, New Zealand, Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan and Thailand. To tie in with the show more than 15,000 Blaupunkt commercials will be shown on MTV's channels in Asia between April and October 2007, thus reaching more than 150 million households across all of Asia-Pacific. Online, fans can check out the official Pimp My Ride MTV-created microsite www.pimpmyride.tv, featuring video content from the show and extended clips of show out-takes. There will be a monthly contest whereby viewers can participate and win Blaupunkt prizes such as car radios, sound products and also exclusive Pimp My Ride merchandising items sponsored by Blaupunkt.
